Desperate to escape his wife's unexpected success, Rayner Gretz travels alone to their honeymoon cabin in the northern regions of the world to pursue his own passion of charcoal drawing without the distractions of his real life. However between the polar storms and the seemingly decaying cabin everything seems to be conspiring to stop him. Soon disaster falls, leaving him alone in the north with nothing but his own poisonous ego and a rifle to try and survive against the strange things that seem to be happening.
The strange voices and foul smells that seem to follow the man wherever he goes. The odd drawings with haunting eyes that appear before him, drawings he doesn’t remember making. All these signs heralding the presence of something darker, older. Something hungry, down by the north.
