The Blackwater World
Here's something you might not have noticed yet: nearly every story I've written takes place in the same universe. I call it the Blackwater World, and it's taken me years to build, one novel at a time, one small connection after another.
It's a fantasy LitRPG setting, and the game mechanics in it aren't just decoration. The levels, stats, and system tables are baked into how the world actually works, as real to the people living there as any river or border on a map. Characters live inside those systems, fight against them sometimes, and come out changed because of them. Doesn't matter if the protagonist is a dungeon core buried under a mountain, a reincarnated soul from our world, or just a shopkeeper trying to sell potions to adventurers who keep nearly getting themselves killed.
Standalone stories, one long history
Every book in the Blackwater World stands on its own. Pick any of them up first, in whatever order you like, and nothing gets spoiled. But underneath that, the whole series follows one long timeline running from the earliest days of the world to its far future. Read a few of them and you'll start catching things. A face you recognize showing up in the background. Something treated as ancient history in one book that you watched happen in another. The fallout of a decision someone made ten books back, still rippling outward. Those little threads are basically my way of thanking readers who stick around long enough to spot them.
