'LitRPG' is a sub-genre of novels that makes use of pseudo digital elements, such as concepts from video games like 'level ups', 'stats', etc., within the story itself. Typically, LitRPG novels are high-fantasy based stories often featuring concepts such as elves, magic, and dungeons!
However, there are also such stories founded within sci-fi, contemporary, or other universes. There is no boundary, as the term LitRPG is very broad. Nearly any novel that uses RPG (Role Playing Game) elements within itself falls under the LitRPG category.
While many LitRPG novels first appear to appeal to young adult audiences, given the commonality of a relationship between them toward 'anime' or 'isekai' (Reborn in another world) fantasy tropes, artwork, and titles, the subject matter of such novels is not as juvenile as one would expect and often appeals to older, more mature audiences as well. The same complicated topics that any novel might touch upon — adventure, growth, illness, horror, wonder, love, relationships, depression, and happenings of all manner — are made no less trivial just because of the presence of such game-like elements. In fact, they are often made more complicated and placed more in focus, given the otherworldly rules and laws imposed upon the characters of the stories by the powers that govern such universes, which are commonly referred to as a ‘System’.
While there are many various LitRPG universes from many authors, the ‘Blackwater World’ is a unique creation of mine that distinguishes itself from the creations of all other LitRPG authors by its long, singular continuity that can be followed through nearly all of my novels.
Each story of mine is a fully standalone novel; however, the world in which it happens is always the same. Each story takes place at a different time-period. As such, by reading in order, you may follow a timeline of the world and observe its development throughout history!
With the novels being standalone, you may read in any order you wish and also skip any novel you do not feel interested in. You will not miss out on anything major. But if you want to find all of the easter-eggs and hidden secrets, understand the true nature of the dripping world, or even spot your favorite character returning in the background, I suggest reading them all!

Generally, there is roughly an era of time that spans between each story. Each story is fully standalone as a novel and they can be read in any desired order. The only connections are world-lore easter eggs and some nods here and there.
